Global Executive Coaching & Leadership Development in Education | Alison Rakotonirina

Why Global Executive Coaching Matters in Education Today

In today’s interconnected world, leadership cannot be confined to one geography, one system, or one way of thinking. Global competency and emotional intelligence are essential for those leading across cultures, classrooms, and communities. According to UNESCO’s 2024 Global Education Monitoring Report, effective educational leaders must go beyond system management. They must self-regulate, communicate with empathy, build trust across difference, and lead with ethical clarity in increasingly complex environments.

My coaching is rooted in these global frameworks. Drawing on research from UNESCO, the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), I support leaders in developing the core competencies that shape thriving schools and resilient organizations.

At the heart of my work is story coaching — because the narratives we carry shape how we see the past, define who we are today, and chart the course for where we are going. These narratives are not fluff. They are foundational. Research shows they are key to developing emotional intelligence, resilience, collaboration, and ethical leadership in both adults and young people. When leaders gain clarity on their own stories, they create the psychological safety and cultural conditions for others to do the same.

Whether you’re a school principal in Madagascar, a logistics manager in South Sudan, or a nonprofit executive navigating global operations, the principles of Social Emotional Learning (SEL), global competency, and purpose-driven leadership remain central.

Let’s build your leadership around what matters most so your work doesn’t just function. It flourishes.

Coaching is one tool that I use to change the world. As a coach, I also show up in conversation, in collaboration, and in community.

Writing & Reflections on Substack

If narrative shapes how we lead, live, and connect — then writing is how I share my own. On my Substack, I explore the questions and convictions that guide my work: What does it mean to lead with purpose across cultures? How do we craft careers that honor our values and strengths? What stories keep us resilient in the face of challenge?

From career crafting to coaching across languages and borders, my writing reflects the soul of Life Work Purpose.

🏫 Sekoly Kintana

Founder and Director | Fort-Dauphin (Tôlagnaro), Madagascar
Innovative education rooted in culture, equity, and global competence

Sekoly Kintana is more than a school. It’s a model for what values-based, globally minded education can look like in Madagascar. As Founder and Director, I lead a team committed to nurturing future leaders through an approach that blends Montessori pedagogy, Malagasy cultural pride, multilingual learning, and social-emotional development.

We center Malagasy identity while equipping students with the critical thinking, language, and leadership skills needed in a complex world. From our trilingual instruction (Malagasy, English, and French) to our focus on emotional intelligence and growth mindset, everything we do is designed to help children thrive — in their communities and beyond.

What sets Sekoly Kintana apart:

  • Trilingual curriculum with Malagasy at the center
  • Mixed-age classrooms that build leadership and collaboration
  • SEL, psychopedagogy, and neuroscience-informed teaching
  • Hands-on materials and Montessori-based learning
  • Inclusion of STEAM, phonics, and local knowledge systems
  • Commitment to equity and access through scholarships and community partnerships

Our model shows what is possible when education is grounded in culture, community, and innovation. Whether a child dreams of being a farmer, artist, or engineer, Sekoly Kintana helps them develop the curiosity, confidence, and competence to lead with purpose.

🌍 Strathmore Business School (LMG Program)

As a French-speaking coach with the Leadership, Management, and Governance (LMG) Program at Strathmore Business School, I’ve led both group and individual coaching for medical professionals and senior leaders across Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, and Burundi. Coaching groups are typically mixed-gender cohorts of five to six leaders working within national malaria control programs and health ministries.

Clients I’ve supported include:

  • Assistant to the Minister of Health (Secrétariat de le Ministre)
  • General Practitioners (Médecin Généralistes)
  • IEC/PNILP Officers
  • Heads of Key Population Units
  • Monitoring and Evaluation Leads (Suivi et Évaluation)

Through coaching, I help these leaders clarify their project goals, communicate impact with confidence, and present their malaria prevention work clearly and persuasively — often in high-stakes, multilingual environments.

Project themes have included:

  • Household use of insecticide-treated nets (ITNs)
  • Barriers to care in rural, underserved areas
  • Community engagement strategies to improve prevention
  • Cross-sectional studies on prevention compliance
  • Monitoring and evaluation of national health campaigns

Whether coaching in French or English, I help leaders shape the narratives that elevate public health outcomes and increase visibility for critical work across the region.
