Why “Life Work Purpose”?
We all work. Work gives us a sense of satisfaction and achievement. It challenges us, connects us, and helps us grow. At its best, it grounds us in something bigger than ourselves.
Life is always happening. Sometimes with intention, sometimes with chaos. The key is to not let life and work pull in opposite directions. The sweet spot is when they reinforce each other. When your work draws on your strengths, reflects your values, and moves you toward something that feels real and purposeful.
That’s what story coaching with Life Work Purpose is all about. It’s more than a name. It’s a coaching approach that helps you align your inner narrative (who you are) with your external narrative (what you do). When you lead from that place, everything shifts: your presence, your decisions, your relationships, your impact.
Isn’t it beautiful when your work tells the truth about who you are?
Why Madagascar?
The simple answer: I fell in love with Madagascar, and with my husband, the first time I visited in 1998.
The complex answer: I was raised in the mountains of Colorado in a traditional home led by two very non-traditional parents. My father was an artist and a master do-it-yourselfer. My mother, an academic, filled our kitchen table with graduate students from around the world and dishes from faraway places.
My grandparents’ lives told me two different stories.
One set were travelers and educators — a chemical engineer and a Montessori teacher who worked with neurodivergent young adults.
The other were cowboys. Horses, cattle, ranch life without running water. They had known the poverty of the Great Depression and built their success through grit, labor, and an unshakable work ethic.
From this mix of artistry, intellect, grit, and global curiosity, I grew up with one clear belief: success doesn’t have to look like a 9 to 5.

From Survival to Story
And yet, my own journey hasn’t been easy.
When we moved to Madagascar in 2018, my family was navigating PTSD, drought, and famine in our community. At times, we were in sheer survival mode. I know what it is to feel stuck in the grind, to lose your spark, to live days that feel more about surviving than truly living.
Over time, I began to adopt tools and practices that reshaped everything: neuroscience, applied positive psychology, leadership coaching, and the art of story.
I learned to make peace with my past, live more fully in the present, and name a hopeful vision for the future. That shift—what researchers call post-traumatic growth—is at the heart of my coaching.
What I Do Today: Story Coaching
I am an ICF-certified coach with over 1,000 hours of coaching in the last three years alone, and the founder/director of Sekoly Kintana, a Montessori-inspired school in Madagascar. My work is narrative or story coaching:
-
Validating your genius and unique experience
-
Integrating past, present, and future into a coherent leadership story
-
Reclaiming your intuition to move beyond overthinking and self-doubt
-
Setting goals that inspire and align with your values
At its core, story coaching is about finding your voice, living your values, and leading with presence and clarity.

My Promise
As your coach, I listen deeply. I reflect honestly. I create a safe space with no judgment. My role is not to tell you who to be, but to stand with you as a witness—helping you step into who you already are.
I believe in the cracks that let the light in.
I believe in joy, even in hard seasons.
And I believe that by healing our own stories, we help heal the world.
If you’re ready to stop surviving and start living—if you’re ready to write your next chapter with intention and integrity—then let’s begin.
How I Came to This Work
My path to coaching began in career development. I was helping people craft resumes and prepare for interviews—but I quickly noticed something deeper. A flawless resume wasn’t always enough. What made the real difference was the story my clients believed about themselves—the inner narrative shaping their confidence, clarity, and ability to lead.
At the same time, I was living through my own transformation. My husband, a retired special forces operator, was navigating life with PTSD. In 2018, just after we moved to Madagascar, I enrolled in a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology through The Flourishing Center. There, I studied the science of hope and post-traumatic growth—learning that hope is built on satisfaction with the past, presence in the now, and a clear vision of the future.
That framework changed everything. I began to understand that leadership is not just about action—it’s about narrative. It’s about how we hold our past, how we show up in the present, and how we author the future.
I became a certified professional coach, trained in the ICF (International Coaching Federation) model. I learned how to listen deeply, reflect honestly, and hold space without attachment to outcomes. Over time, I brought something uniquely mine into the work: the ability to listen between the lines, read the emotional air, and help clients find the words that reconnect them with their truth.
This is what I call story coaching. It’s ICF-aligned executive and leadership coaching, enriched by narrative intelligence and presence work. Together, we:
-
Validate your lived experience and name your genius
-
Integrate your past, present, and future into a coherent and empowering leadership story
-
Set goals that resonate with your values and move you forward with intention and clarity
Story coaching is the practice of helping you reclaim authorship—of your voice, your leadership, and your life.
